Movie Review of Blow

Blow is a fantastic watch and stars Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz. This is a movie that is filled with drama and is directed by Ted Demme. This movie is a true story of how the american cocaine market was founded by a man named George Jung who was claimed to have been responsible for cocaine becoming the drug of choice for the rich and famous back in the 70's.
I compared the movie Blow to a book called Tweak by Nic Scheff. It's also a true story, and is about a guy named Nic who has a wonderful life but is really exposed as a child. Nic moves to New York and becomes addicted to meth. He ends up living on the streets and using all the time. This reminds me of the movie Blow because it is also a true story and George Jung looses everything aswell as Nic.
In the movie, George and his best friend "Tuna" (Ethan Supple), decide to sell marijuana in small amounts moving then onto larger sums. Sooner or later they progress onto cocaine. He soon has the time of his life. While selling weed he gets caught and goes to jail. George escapes from jail to be with his girlfriend while she is sick, until she dies of cancer. After this, Jung is on the run and meets up with his friend Pablo that he met in jail, and they start selling cocaine. What he doesn't know is that everyone he is with will betray him. In the end, George gets married, has a daughter and then lives in jail for a long time. He never saw his daughter ever again.
I really enjoy this movie and it is one of my favourites. I don't do drugs myself but i really find addictions interesting and i like to watch/hear about other people's challenges. I also think its really sad that George never gets to see his daughter because he messed up his life, and that this is a true story. Things like this happen to people daily so it's really interesting to know about.
In the end, I think everyone should watch this movie. Its an amazing story and is funny at times. I recommend everyone to rent it.
