Writing a novel never seemed possible. If someone told me last year to write a novel, I would have never even thought about it. Even when I joined Writers Craft I didn't think we were going to write a novel. I was able to make it up to 4518 words. 5000 words was my goal, but i felt like I was at the part where I was finished writing.
My novel is about a couple who do not get along. Tom thinks so but that is only because he is an abusive drug addict. Kat met Tom in highschool but they were only friends. When highschool ended Kat felt different about Tom. She and him became drug dealers and dealt for Tom's friend Carl.
I write about whenTom and Kat live together with their cat Mulise. Basically Tom beats the shit out of her and Kat tries to leave. She attempts it once, but it didn't work. The second time she hit Tom over the head and knocked him out. Carl was on his way over to the house and caught Kat trying to leave. They locked her in the bathroom. Kat escaped from the bathroom and basically starts her life over and falls in love with a man. In the end, Tom and Carl find her and kill her new boyfriend. They do kill Kat, but I did not write about that yet.
My novel is a bit morbid, but it is real life. I mean these things do happen.
Wow, that's heavy, drugs, abuse. Sounds very serious, but it would be a very real story. I felt the same way about writing a novel when I started, but its cool to see it come together.
